- Hi! I'm Ahmed from Tangier, I love rap music. I have always felt that rap is a form of modern poetry but, it's unknown. I suspect sometime in the future children in school will be looking at lyrics by Jay-Z or Eminem and studying it as the "pop-poetry of the time". Rap music went from an underground movement from the streets in New York City to a massive force in the music industry, with rap singles on the pop charts. Since its starting, people have been listening to rap music for its lyrics, and some, for its idealization of American violence. Producers like Dr. Dre (musician, businessperson) and Kanye West have produced many great-sounding songs. Many rappers consistently have interesting things to say. I love the poetry of the lyrics, the flows, the rhymes. Eminem (musician) has many sublime rhymes (I murder a rhyme, one word at a time-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdAEuiktWnM).
- Like it or not, rap has gone far and has become a cultural phenomenon that has defined a generation. If you want to learn something about any culture in the world, you can probably find a sweet hip-hop tune that will take you there in style. I enjoy rap, not because it’s cool, but because I like the sound of it. I have listened to all types of music and I can appreciate most genres… As many people said, rappers often play with language in interesting ways.
